Delivery Overview

 

All large items (more than 30kg) are delivered using our own in house, tracked delivery team.  We do not use national carriers due to damaged and miss delivered items.

 

We are Free delivery to the majority of UK mainland postcodes for orders over £80.  Postcodes that are not covered by our free delivery, for orders over £80, are shown in the table below.  Orders Under £80 will incur a £4.95 delivery charge.   If delivery to your area is not covered by the free or £4.95 charge it will be shown in the delivery table below and on the checkout page once you have entered your postcode.

 

  • If you postcode is not in the table below delivery is FREE for orders over £80 and £4.95 for orders under £80.

  • We can deliver to the Channel Islands but you will need to call us for a quote.

 

  1. Small items under 30kg will probably be sent with Parcelforce for delivery. Items greater than 30kg (the majority of the items that we sell) will be delivered using our own in-house, tracked, delivery team where we can control the delivery process.  We stopped using next day national couriers, for items over 30kg, due to the high number of problems with lost parcels, damaged items or simply not delivering on the arranged day.  This only creates hassle for our customers and ourselves.

 

  1. Due to delivering our own goods with our own delivery team we are not able to offer a next day service for large items. Delivery will be within 5 days though we do try to get your order delivered to you as soon as possible and if there is space on a van and it is in your area than you may get a phone call to book in the delivery a lot sooner.  Scotland Devon and Corwall will be delivered within 12 days.  If you need your item sooner than we may be able to offer expedited delivery to certain postcodes so please give us a call to check.  PLEASE NOTE: All delivery time frames refer to working days and orders placed before 2pm, we do not despatch orders on weekends or bank holidays and delivery is only an estimation not a guarantee.

 

  1. Please ensure that you have provided us with an up-to-date telephone number so that we can contact you to book your delivery in. This will be either Wicken Toys contacting you the day before delivery to book it in with you, we may also email you asking you to contact us, or Parcelforce texting you booking / tracking details for your delivery.

 

  1. Our delivery driver will always try to leave the item / items where the customer asks. The furthest point that they are expected to leave any item is on a back patio, access permitting.  Any side gate or passage is normally big enough as long as a person can walk down there.  The drivers are not expected to take the item / items any further beyond that point.  The delivery drivers will carry items through the house that do not require a trolley to move the items.  Larger boxes may need unpacking and taking through piece by piece, this is up to the customer to do.  We do not ask the driver to do this as they have timed bookings and would find themselves late for other customers.  

 

  1. Like every other internet or mail order retailer, we have no control over problems that occur in transit that lead to delays in delivery of your order. Whilst we completely understand the frustration that delays cause, we cannot be held responsible for any delays caused and therefore cannot offer discounts or compensation for delays in delivery.

 

  1. Our own delivery team do not require you to be at home to receive your delivery. When we contact you the day before delivery, we are more than happy to make arrangements to leave your order in a back garden, or somewhere out of sight.  We will not do this unless we have agreed this with you.  Our delivery vans are tracked and we do take photos of the items left where we have agreed with you.  We will not leave anything roadside of a back garden gate.

 

  1. Deliveries generally take place between the hours of 7am – 7pm Monday – Friday. It is your responsibility to check your delivery on receipt of your order and notify us as soon as possible if there is any missing parts or damage. 

 

  1. You should check the contents of your order immediately for any missing parts or damage and notify us within 14 days of any issues, if you fail to notify us within this time but then later contact us regarding an issue you will not be eligible for a refund and we will supply parts in order to rectify any damage or offer a repair at our discretion. Please note that is it your responsibly to check your order is correct and undamaged once it has been delivered, even if the item is being stored for a time before use it should be checked to make sure it is all present and in working order within 14 days of delivery.  In the event that your item is delivered damaged or there are any missing parts please contact us immediately at sales@wickentoys.co.uk with your Invoice number and delivery address as reference as well as details of the damage, providing images of the damage will help speed the process so we can sort the issue and get you up and running as soon as possible.

 

  1. If you independently arrange to have an item shipped from the delivery address stated on your order to a different address, for example to another country, it is your responsibility to completely check the item for any damage or manufacturing defects before the item is shipped to the new address and contact us immediately to report any issues.  We will not be held responsible for any damage that is caused by courier companies that have not been contracted by Wicken Toys, and you will be required to prove that any damage found was caused during the manufacturing process or by our delivery service when it was first delivered to the address on your order.  Likewise in the event of an incorrect item being sent it is your responsibility to check the item is correct before sending it to a new address.  We strongly recommend that you check the item thoroughly as soon as it is delivered and notify us of any issues immediately.  We will not be held liable for an incorrect item being shipped by yourself to a new address or the courier costs to send the item to or retrieve the item from the new address.  We will only arrange collections from or replacements or parts to be sent to the original delivery address we have on your order.

 

  1. If you are purchasing an item for a special occasion please open and check it against the parts list to ensure that the manufacturers have packed the item correctly.  If an item is missing or wrong, we do need time to get a replacement part to you.  Unfortunately, we will not compensate if an item is wrong as we can get replacement parts despatched to correct them.
