Due to the moving parts, small toddlers under 2 years old have a greater chance of falling off and injuring themselves, so it's best to wait until they're a bit older and bigger before they get their own go-kart.

If you’re looking for a small go-kart that will last through their early years, the Buzzy go-kart range is suitable for little ones aged 2–5 years old (from 24 months). The larger Buddy go-kart range is then suitable for children aged 3–8 years old (from 36 months).

Young or old, we believe that everyone should get to experience the joy that a BERG pedal go-kart can bring. Go-karting isn’t just for kids – adults are welcome to get in on the fun, too!

That’s why BERG manufactures plenty of larger models with XL and XXL frames, not just suitable for taller teenagers, but also big enough for a fully grown adult to sit in and drive safely.

Of course, an adult cannot ride on smaller go-karts designed for little children, such as the Buzzy or Buddy models. Generally, though, most XL and XXL BERG go-kart models are suitable for anyone over 5 years old, weighing up to 100 kg, with adjustable seats to accommodate heights up to 200 cm.

That said, be sure to double-check the product specifications before ordering a BERG pedal kart for adults to ensure you’re within the age, weight, and height limits of your chosen model.

Older riders also tend to play harder and go faster, so a BERG hybrid go-kart from the E-BFR range may be a better option for adults – featuring an electric motor and multiple gears for more powerful pedalling.

While smaller models for kids tend to come pre-assembled, the larger adult-friendly BERG pedal karts may require some assembly upon delivery. The good news is that when you order certain models, you can also select the option of FREE installation. Eligible postcodes will be shown on the product page.

The weight limit for each of our go-karts is dependent on the age range you're buying for. The higher the age range, the sturdier the go-kart will be, as it will be designed for larger riders.

Each go-kart is manufactured to be as strong as possible, but there are some weight restrictions that apply to ensure it is safe and secure for the user. Only those within the weight range should use it.

For example, the Buzzy and Buddy ranges, designed for smaller riders, have maximum user weights of 30 kg and 50 kg respectively. Meanwhile, the XL and XXL models that are suitable for teenagers and adults have a much higher maximum user weight of 100 kg.

You should always check the weight restrictions of a specific product before ordering from our online shop to make sure it's suitable for the person you're buying it for.

This is especially important for 2-seater or 4-seater models, as the weight limits for each seat may vary.
