Discover the BERG Biky balance bike range - designed to help young riders build balance and confidence before moving on to pedals. BERG balance bikes are lightweight, easy to handle, and fitted with pneumatic tyres to give a smooth, comfortable ride on paths, grass, and garden surfaces.

Every model features a tool-free adjustable saddle, so the bike grows with your child. The built-in steering limiter prevents sharp, sudden turns, helping children learn to steer safely and steadily.

Choose from:

  • Moov - Lightweight 10" balance bike for early confident riders.
  • Biky Cross - chunky tyres and tough styling for off-path adventures.
  • Biky Trail - chunky tyres with mudguards and skinwall tyres.

Frequently Asked Questions

What age are BERG balance bikes suitable for?

BERG Biky balance bikes are generally suitable for children aged 2 to 5 years, or 85–110cm in height. The seat adjusts easily so the bike grows with your child.

What’s the difference between the Biky Cross and Biky Retro?

  • Biky Cross has chunkier tyres for grip on grass, gravel, and rougher ground
  • Biky Retro has a classic curved frame and slimmer tyres for a smooth, stylish ride on paths and playgrounds.

The riding experience is the same — just choose the style you prefer.

Do BERG balance bikes have brakes?

Some models do include a handbrake and others don’t. If a bike has a brake, it will say “with Handbrake” in the product title.

  • Models without a brake are designed to help children learn to control speed using their feet — this builds balance and stopping confidence naturally.
  • Models with a handbrake are ideal for children who are already more confident, or who will soon move up to a pedal bike.

Are the tyres inflatable?

Yes. All BERG balance bikes use pneumatic (air-filled) tyres for better cushioning, grip, and comfort on different surfaces.

How do I adjust the seat height?

Seat height adjusts using a quick-release clamp — no tools needed. Loosen, slide to the right height, tighten. Done.

Can my child steer safely?

Yes. BERG balance bikes include a steering limiter to prevent the handlebars from over-rotating. This gives children more control and prevents sudden wobbles.

How do I know if it’s the right size?

Your child should be able to sit on the saddle with both feet flat on the floor, knees slightly bent. If they can’t reach, lower the seat. If they are very bent at the knee, raise it.

Does it arrive assembled?

It arrives mostly assembled. Final setup is simple and usually takes 10–15 minutes with clear instructions.

The Biky City comes with everything you would expect from a balance bike and many extras besides. Sturdy 12" rims with pneumatic tires as standard. The magnesium frame is extremely strong and keeps it nice and light. Handy, with a finely adjustable saddle, too. This will take you to the end of the world and back.

Is the Biky City still a size too big for you, but you would still like to get out and about? Then go for the same model, but with 10" rims, the Biky Mini. It's just that little bit easier. With this one, you can start from age 2 years. And when you can't manage it any more, mum or dad can pick up and carry your Biky with ease. That's how light it is.

Do you prefer going off the beaten track? Do you want to ride across grass and mud? Then the Biky Cross is just the thing for you. With lightweight aluminium rims and gold-anodised front forks (yes, indeed! ) you can get the most out of it. The unique saddle provides an extra sporty seat. Get going!

Do you prefer something more classic? Do you prefer going around in style? Then you should go for the Biky Retro. A lovely balance bike, just like the Biky City, and a real eye-catcher thanks to the alloy front forks. With the handy detachable retro saddlebag, you can easily take your teddy, doll or picnic stuff with you, wherever you go.

Safety is of course also paramount for you as an adventurer. Hence why all models come with a steering regulator with two positions: Safe mode for a safe start, and Skill mode to let rip. There are no sharp edges or protruding parts, and the footrests are integral to the design. This is safer for you and your Biky is less likely to get damaged.

For even greater safety and longer lasting fun, you can choose from all kinds of accessories. This means you can protect all your cleverness with a cool helmet, and with a flag you can be sure that grown-ups in cars can see you too. A bicycle stand means you can park your Biky anywhere.
