The BERG Champion InGround Sports trampolines are designed for users who want a high-performance bounce with a low-profile look, and prefer to jump without a safety enclosure. The frame is installed partially into the ground, so the trampoline sits neatly within the garden and is easy to step onto, without the raised height of a traditional trampoline.

Because Sports models are supplied without a safety net, they are recommended for confident users aged 14+, where supervision and clear space around the trampoline are available.

The AirFlow Pro jumping mat allows up to 150% more airflow than a standard jump bed, making the bounce feel lighter, smoother and easier to control. The TwinSpring angled spring layout boosts jumping efficiency and reduces impact, delivering better lift and comfort than the Favorit range, while remaining easier to control than the Pro Bouncer.

This collection includes three shapes to suit different jumping styles and garden layouts:

Does water build up underneath sunken trampolines?

Most in-ground trampolines have built-in drainage holes in the pads to allow water to escape. However, soil type and weather conditions can affect drainage. For high water tables or clay soil, a soak-away with gravel or a permeable membrane may be needed to prevent water pooling.

Does sinking a trampoline in the ground affect bounce quality?

No. In-ground trampolines are designed to direct airflow so the mat isn't compressed by trapped air. Vented pads allow air to escape, reducing 'pad slap' noise and maintaining bounce quality. The frame is more stable, which can improve overall bounce compared to above-ground trampolines.

Which trampoline shape is the best?

Round trampolines offer even spring tension and central bounce, suitable for most domestic gardens. Rectangular trampolines provide more bounce for serious users, but multiple jumpers are not recommended. Square trampolines fit neatly into certain spaces, and oval trampolines offer multiple bounce areas and fit narrow yards. All shapes require a surrounding safety zone.

Which is the best trampoline size for my child?

Choose based on age, height, and weight. Smaller models suit younger children and smaller gardens. Round sunken trampolines range from 9ft to 14ft in diameter. Rectangular, square, and oval trampolines are also available, with the largest being 17ft x 11ft 4". Ensure at least 2 metres of clear space around the trampoline.

Is an in-ground trampoline worth it?

It depends on usage. If your children use it frequently, a robust in-ground trampoline can provide many years of fun. With proper maintenance, it can last 5–8 years or more. Teach kids to bounce responsibly, check and tighten screws, and use anti-rust spray on springs. Weatherproofing with a trampoline cover is recommended.

Monitor growth; replace with a larger model if performance decreases or the mat wears out.

How do I install an in-ground trampoline myself?

If you prefer a DIY approach, you'll need shovels or spades and at least one helper. For a flatground trampoline dig a hole slightly wider than the trampoline and deep enough for the frame. Level the bottom and assemble the frame according to the product manual. Fit the structure into the hole, ensure it is level and secure, and fill gaps with soil.

Inground trampolines actually need a hole smaller than the trampoline frame as the trampoline frame will sit around the outside of the hole on top of the ground. Then dig a bowl shaped hole as the per the trampoline manual.

Attach any safety nets, if required, allow at least 2 metres of clear space around the trampoline with shock-absorbing ground like grass, sand, or bark chips.

Are in-ground trampolines safer than above-ground?

Safety is paramount when it comes to outdoor play equipment for children. Above-ground trampolines have an additional risk of falling due to their raised structure. Sunken trampolines are generally seen as safer, as a fall from a few inches above ground is less likely to cause serious injury.

With an In-ground trampoline kids can walk directly onto the trampoline, avoiding falls while climbing on. However, always supervise children, keep the trampoline dry, and consider a safety net enclosure for added protection.

How are BERG trampolines different from other brands?

At Wicken Toys, we stock the majority of BERG trampoline lines. The right BERG trampoline model for you depends on factors such as the age of the user, the size of the installation space, and the installation method, as well as your budget.

The most affordable BERG trampolines are the Favorit range, ideal for smaller gardens and younger kids. The Champion range offers a heavier frame, longer springs, and a wider protective edge for more energetic jumpers.

For older children interested in athletics or gymnastics, the Elite range features extra-long springs, thick safety edges, and a black-coated T-section frame with 8 support legs for a sporty and stylish option.

You also have a choice of installation styles: above-ground trampolines with feet, sunken in-ground trampolines, and FlatGround models with advanced Airflow mats for better bounce.

Which BERG trampoline sizes and shapes are available?

As a leading trampoline brand, there are multiple ranges of BERG trampolines to suit every age range, skill level, and outdoor space. There are three common shapes - round, oval, and rectangular - but also several designs with different features and sizes.

On top of this, there are three possible installation styles (regular, InGround, or FlatGround), and each BERG trampoline is available in three colours (grey, green, and black), with the additional option of a safety net in either 'comfort' or 'deluxe' designs.

Round BERG trampolines are a common choice, which is why they have the widest range of sizes:

  • BERG Favorit - 6ft 6" / 9ft / 11ft / 12.5ft / 14ft
  • BERG Champion - 11ft / 12.5ft / 14ft / 14ft Levels

The Favorit range is the best for basics, while the Champion range takes a step up. Both are available as regular above-ground trampolines or InGround sunken trampolines. However, the BERG Levels trampoline comes with additional active play features.

Oval BERG trampolines include:

  • BERG Grand Favorit - 17ft x 11ft 4"
  • BERG Grand Champion - 11ft 6" x 8ft 2" / 15ft 5" x 10ft 2" / 17ft x 11ft 4"
  • BERG Grand Elite - 17ft x 11ft 4"

Rectangular BERG trampolines include:

  • BERG Ultim Favorit - 9ft 2" x 6ft 2" / 11ft x 7ft / 13ft 5" x 8ft 2"
  • BERG Ultim Champion - 11ft x 7ft / 13ft 5" x 8ft 2" / 16ft 4" x 9ft 10"
  • BERG Ultim Elite - 16ft 4" x 9ft 10"
  • BERG Ultim Pro Bouncer - 16ft 4" x 9ft 10"

The unique BERG Airflow design increases airflow and bounce power by up to 50%, and the top-tier versions of these trampolines are also available in the BERG FlatGround design, which puts the trampoline flush with the ground for better bounce.
