Garden Slides

Slides provide never-ending fun for children (and grownups!) and, here at Wicken Toys, we supply a wide range of garden slides perfect for your back garden.

Our slides come in a variety of sizes, meaning you can find the perfect fit for both the space you have available and the age of the children using it.

If you are looking to create a spectacular back garden for your own children and their friends, then Wicken Toy’s selection of garden slides are the perfect choice. You can choose from free standing garden slides that can be part of a fun filled set up with trampolines or playhouses. Or, if you are building your own climbing frame set, you can buy the slide body on its own to fit in with your person design.

Looking for something bigger? We also offer more creative, larger slide options for public climbing frames. We have slides that are suitable for platform heights 4ft, 5ft, 6ft and 7ft. They are ideal for thrill seekers and are enclosed slides for added safety.

If you would like more information on our large kids slides, as seen on TV, then feel free to give us a call on 0800 587 1066.

How do I clean an outdoor slide?

Like anything, outdoor slides can be prone to dirt and grime, and may need a clean from time to time   to keep looking as good as new.

To keep your slide at its slippery best and free of dirt, you should first clean it with a mild cleaning detergent and some warm water to scrub off any dirt you can see that has accumulated over time.

Once your slide is looking clean, you should then wax the surface to give it is slippery appeal that makes children want to go, go and go again!

What age can a child use a slide?

Slides for kids are designed to be a way of giving them that exhilarating feeling of speed and freedom, whilst keeping them safe in the process. Of course, the more a child grows, the less fun the smaller slides become, and they will want to move onto something bigger and steeper.

If you are looking to introduce your child to a slide, then we recommend purchasing a small model for your home so you can ensure their safety. They should be able to go up or down a slide with no assistance between 23-26 months depending on the incline.

On here, depending on the size and incline of the slide, and the size of the child, they will be able to experiment with slides that they are comfortable with.

Are slides safe?

If used correctly and common sense is applied, slides are safe for everyone who uses them. Of course, if a smaller child is left to go down a larger slide alone, they could risk injury upon impact with the ground below. This is why you should always keep an eye on smaller children when in the presence of taller slides.

Users should ensure that they slide down a kids’ slide with their feet getting to the bottom first and sat up whilst doing so. They should never go down head first or lay down. They should also slide down alone and check that the bottom is clear before descending.

By following these measures, slides for kids can continue to be a safe and enjoyable addition to a garden, park or playground.

We have the BIGGEST display in the UK where you the children can try all of the outdoor climbing frames, trampolines, swings and go karts.

Whether you are looking at a go kart or an expensive climbing frame, you can get an idea from looking at a picture on a website but you can not beat actually seeing it and even giving it a shake to see how sturdy it is. We will come to see if you have any questions or would like any help but we will not chase you around while you are looking.
